In my view this is unsat. We continue to have unused capacity on our super carriers. Those numbers can be punched back over 100 aircraft with the addition of attack UAVs. We're missing an opportunity that the nation of Turkey is pursuing, that China will surely follow and others will rapidly adopt all because we're too timid to evolve the carrier air wing.

About the collapse of the player on the field last night...sorry but its a passion play.

 I hope to god that the player that collapsed on the field last night gets better and is able to play again.  But let's get real.

The delay of the game is a public relations passion play.

In Louisiana we get at least 3 or 4 players that are medical emergencies or another few that actually die during pre-season training.  Even a few that have medical issues during spring training and some that have died.

Serious injury and death is nothing new to football.  It goes back decades and if you care to research you can find where players have died in the hospital after games.

So yeah I get it.  To many this is shocking.  To people that have actually participated in the sport....not so much.

Side note.  This is the same NFL that have seen people paralyzed for life on the field.  Yet the game continued.  The same NFL that has seen traumatic brain injury and yet few things have changed. This is a money play and a chance to look right with the public. The dude in Miami has had three concussions in one year but is still playing?  Yet you think the NFL actually gives a fuck?  Yeah right!

The nation demanded a response to the bombings, and the Attorney General—who had his eye on the White House in 1920—was ready to oblige.

Palmer created a small division to gather intelligence on the radical threat and placed a young Justice Department lawyer named J. Edgar Hoover in charge. Hoover collected and organized every scrap of intelligence gathered by the Bureau of Investigation (the FBI’s predecessor) and by other agencies to identify anarchists most likely involved in violent activity. The young Bureau, meanwhile, continued to investigate those responsible for the bombings.

Later that fall, the Department of Justice began arresting, under recently passed laws like the Sedition Act, suspected radicals and foreigners identified by Hoover’s group, including well-known leaders Emma Goldman and Alexander Berkman. In December, with much public fanfare, a number of radicals were put on a ship dubbed the “Red Ark” or “Soviet Ark” by the press and deported to Russia.

Question for all the hyper Ukraine supporters.

At what point will you all say that "hey its time to actually assess how much aid Ukraine is getting and compare that number to its actual needs".

Australia is a perfect example.

Large land mass, small population.

They're in the midst of a modernization of their military, have tight budgets, and concerns in their own region to worry about.

Yet they're being pressed to give more?  They're actually trying to link support for Ukraine to any moves that China might make?

A corrupt country.  Money pouring in with no end in sight.  Lax oversight.  A social media campaign that is making reasonable donations of aid seem insufficient?

The psyops is strong with this war.

Side note.  Those Iranian/Russian ballistic missiles are wrecking Ukraine's energy grid.  The Patriot missile system won't be up and running for months and the slower loitering drones are keeping the anti-air crews up at night and slowly wearing them down. This war has not been pleasant and it will not be over quickly. I fully expect this thing to drag into the winter of 2023.

Happy New Year to all.

A few predictions for the year...

1.  The war on Europe drags on and on....

2.  Ballistic Missile attacks against Ukraine intensify.  Calls for direct US involvement increase.

3.  Full fledged, undeniable recession hits the world economy. But the worst of it isn't the wage crushing inflation, its the fear of stagflation globally that keeps policy makers up at night.

4.  Pop up wars spring up globally.  The fight for resources is on. From energy to water to food to stopping mass migration the fight is on.

5.  Migration reaches critical mass in the Western world.  Citizens break with their leadership on the toil of accepting people from the 3rd world into their countries.  A true backlash begins.

6.  It is found that the US has been launching cyber attacks against Russian infrastructure.  The Russians respond in kind with assistance from the N. Koreans, Iranians and on the periphery Chinese.  Power outages increase across the US.

7.  Crime explodes to unimagined proportions in the US.  Citizens arm themselves and start taking matters into their own hands. DA's are forced to sentence properly but the genie is out of the bottle.  The Wild Wild West returns with average people open carrying --- even in anti-gun states.

8.  The debt bomb finally catches up with the US.  Social programs are savagely cut.  

9.  Unrest overseas forces the pentagon to alter its forward presence mantra and the Rapid Deployment Force is reborn (with a new name).
