No excuses on this one.
That shit was above the top and alot worse than I ever thought it would be (we just had one by State Troopers that was bad and even that wasn't as bad as this one...oh and he died too).
The only thing left for me to wonder (and I agree with the charges and firing) is did these guys have contact with this dude before?
I'm sure their internal affairs is all over their contact cards (what we call them...you make contact with an individual and you get their name, date of birth etc...don't know what they're called in other places) and their body cams will be reviewed till the beginning of time (they're recharged and downloaded at the end of shift so a record is kept) so if he showed up they'll probably know.
Other than that I guess the only thing left is that the surprise is that black officers were involved in this.
Well if you know a black officer that works in the "hood" then ask him about his average day. You're called uncle Tom, gigaboo and a whole lot of other stuff you'd rather not hear.
So on that part I ain't surprised. You dig around in the trash too long you're gonna pick some up.
Which leads me to this.
I kinda thing they should have a time limit on how long you serve on these teams. Especially in the age we live in now.
The pressure has to be intense to get guns off the street, lock up killers and drug dealers and all kinds of special projects your Chief/Sheriff has for ya.
You won't decompress going back to patrol but it will give you a break from the high speed stuff for a while.
