The protests in Iran have taken a turn....into something familiar...

Wow.

I said that the protests was an opportunity for the US.

I stated that we could use them to moderate the govts behavior, to push them to modernizing their society and a chance to get them to view the west differently.

I did not expect this.

I wonder if we're seeing another color revolution.  This Twitter obviously thinks so.

Putin to explode a nuclear device near the border of Ukraine as a demonstration?

Apparently drinking espresso on your way to combat is the new hotness...

Time to talk about the unthinkable in the Ukraine/NATO/US vs Russia war

I've been raging that we should have diplomatic channels open with Russia.  That we should be trying our best to walk this thing back and to shut this shit off.

Many of my readers are so into the propaganda surrounding this thing that they call Russians "orcs", have even Zelensky running with the talking point that they should "run if they want to live" etc...

But everyone is also forgetting the old Russian concept of escalating to de-escalate.

Point in case.

1.  Putin stated that any attack on Russian soil would provoke retaliation.  The implication being nukes.

2.  The Russians were losing territory but its accelerated recently. It appears that they are withdrawing in some sort of order.

3.  The attacks are occurring in areas that the Russians have declared that are now part of Russia.

4.  An ally of Russia has declared that tactical nuclear weapons should be used.

So what if?

What if it isn't a bluff and the Russians escalate to de-escalate?

What if they do use tactical nuclear weapons?

What is our response?  Do we directly attack Russian forces if they are not engaging our own?  Do we respond in kind? Do we use conventional forces against their troops if they use tactical nukes in Ukraine?

The world would be shocked.

The West would be hard pressed to go to ACTUAL war for Ukraine.

But most experts would scream and yell that such an act could go unpunished.  BUT WE HAVE NO MORE BULLETS LEFT IN OUR MAGAZINE!  THE SANCTIONS ARE TO THE MAX.  WE'RE ALREADY SENDING MILITARY EQUIPMENT!  WHAT COULD WE DO SHORT OF JOINING THE CONFLICT!

Even worse?

What if Putin is overthrown?

Has anyone taken a look at those behind him?  They make Putin look like a choir boy and they definitely want to drink our blood.

For better or worse Putin is a moderate in their system and he is the MOST likely to make a deal than others in his orbit.

So since most are war hungry where do you see this going if the unthinkable happens?

I see nothing good!

They're really talking about tactical nukes...

How do we respond if Russia uses tactical nukes on its newly annexed territory? Would it be worth a response in kind? What would be the unintended consequences if we did or didn't? This thing is heading toward some real shaky territory and if I was the leader of any country on this planet I would RUSH to get a nuclear capability. The world is getting more dangerous and IDIOTS don't want people talking to try and shut this shit down.
