Why we are the WEAKEST generation of all time

I smell pussification all over the West...even in an organization that I once lionized.

Leadership has failed and its up to each and every one of us to harden the fuck up.

Help ain't coming.

It's up to us.

Rheinmetall Mission Master XT, an all-new autonomous platform

This isn't a slam at Rheinmetall or the other manufacturers that are responding to the various Defense Ministries/Depts that are requesting this type of vehicle.

What has me spinning is that we're building a vehicle that carries our gear while we walk?

A vehicle that carries heavy weapons while we walk?

I can't quite wrap my head around that.  If it can carry a squads worth of gear then it a couple should be able to carry a squad?  If it can carry a heavy weapon then it can carry the people that should man that weapon!

I just feel like we're really and truly on that circular development thing. First we walk, then we ride, then we put armor on it, then we put a gun on it, then we put a bigger gun on it and the people get off...you've seen that little cartoon and you get where I'm coming from.

I can't shake the feeling that we're in the interwar period except where they were truly grasping in the dark for the next great thing we're trying to force the issue.

Yeah, we're gonna be able to hide in China's backyard...oh wait....China launches new group of classified Yaogan-30 satellites

This was so predictable.

At BEST Berger's Folly had a POTENTIAL shelf life of about 5 years and that was with unlimited funding and a massive industrial push behind it.

As things stand?

Less than 100 missiles fired from dispersed Marine Littoral Regiments playing the mole in a whack-a-mole game on a few islands in the Pacific?

A few dozen ships that probably won't hit the fleet until AFTER 2025 at BEST?

That was all without taking into account China response to this thing.

I think we're seeing it now.  I always gave them credit for doing as we would if they tried the same idiocy off the West Coast or worse in the Gulf Of Mexico.

They'd flood the zone with ISR assets.  From space to air to surface to below surface sensors I'd be setting up to carefully track every plane, ship, truck...hell even boot if possible coming into my region.

This is an indication that the Chinese are doing the same.

Its amazing but this grand strategy to blunt the Chinese has already died. The so called brains at Quantico better go back to the drawing board because once again they've labored and produced jack shit.

We so need a modern day Gray, The Brute Krulak and a few hard as woodpecker lips Colonels to come up with a better way.

Or they could just listen to me and take what we have...long range Tomahawks, adapt them to the anti-ship mission, put them on carrier based UAVs, transition those aviation centric LHAs to UAV carriers, reinforce the MAGTF and adopt them to include these anti-ship missiles (along with a robust package for land warfare) and dump the F-35 buy and put more Marine Air on carriers so that they get back up 100 planes and see this thing sing.

African Lion 2021 - High Value Target Training

Moroccan Special Forces alongside U.S. Army Special Forces Soldiers assigned to the 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Utah Army National Guard fast rope onto a rooftop and clear a building during a high value target training exercise at Tifnit, Morocco on June 17, 2021. African Lion 2021 is U.S. Africa Command's largest, premier, joint, annual exercise hosted by Morocco, Tunisia, and Senegal, 7-18 June. More than 7,000 participants from nine nations and NATO train together with a focus on enhancing readiness for U.S. and partner nation forces. AL21 is multi-domain, multi-component, and multinational exercise, which employs a full array of mission capabilities with the goal to strengthen interoperability among participants.

US Army has their robot MLRS launcher too...and it carries TWO FULL PODS...

Tell me again why the Marine Corps was upfront on this thing and standardized on a JLTV based launcher instead of going in the Army's direction and just putting on an FMTV chassis (like we do now!)? Talk about wasting resources!

What does this indicate?

A bias...an EXTREME bias toward absurd lightness.

Are we about to do away with our FMTV mounted MLRS?  Not in the cards from what I've read and if that's the case then the JLTV based model with only 6 rounds MAKES NO SENSE.

From a lethality point it makes no sense and from a mobility point again it makes no sense.

The reality is that the Army will be doing what the Marine Corps Commandant wants to in the Pacific WHILE performing the new mission of being the nation's force in readiness because our so called brains in Quantico tossed that role to them.

Navy awards contracts for Light Amphibious Warships (concepts)...let me remind you of the last time the Marine Corps demanded a ship from the Navy (recent history)...

Weird. Never seen a contract move that fast ESPECIALLY FOR A SHIP!

I smell shenanigans.  Regardless.  Let me remind you of the last time THIS CROP of Marine Corps Generals demanded a ship from the Navy.
