Interesting. Ukraine has launched an offensive near Kursk?
This makes no sense. But its working so fuck me. How is a force that has suffered the casualties that the Ukrainians have, suddenly launched an offensive? Is it a real offensive or an attempt to take pressure off another front? There are encircled Russian forces. Will they attempt to keep them supplied by air (drone) or will they attempt a breakout? Weird war. Weird strategies. Is this an independent Ukrainian effort or are they taking the advice of pick your country?URGENT Kursk Front Update

2. Encircled Russian Soldiers: An unknown number of Russian soldiers are nearly encircled in Oleshnya, with escape routes… pic.twitter.com/rPL0LFbw96
This is gonna be a law suit from hell...
Without government who would point guns at an unarmed woman, break her vehicle's window, drag her to the ground, arrest her, and hold her in jail for 5 days for an expired registration sticker?

Even worse, it was the chief of police that did this...

The West is screwed economically.
Noble wrote a comment on another blog post that paused me in track.
Long story short?
The West is screwed economically. I'm no economist but just trying to suss out the trend lines and we either develop a new economic system or we're gonna be faced with invading armies (no, not immigrants either but actual armies) coming to the resource rich US and Canada.
Doing my little mind exercise I'm actually beginning to wonder if it wouldn't make more sense to retreat to fortress America NOW and build up a huge nuclear arsenal cause I'm beginning to wonder if the trend lines aren't pointing to us simply being spent into dust just like we did the USSR.
Enough of my musing. Check out what Noble had to say along with the graphics he posted...
Just want to share a view graphics to paint a picture of "why the Pacific":
G7's declining share of global GDP Take-away: the handful of North American and Western European countries don't have the economic clout that they did when the Soviet Union collapsed.
Population Density of Asia Take-away: India, China, Indonesia, Pakistan...these places have MASSIVE populations, growing industrialization, growing technology, etc.......60% of the 8 billion humans live here. I think I read once that for almost all of recorded history minus the last few hundred years, China and India were >75% of global GDP. We are returning to that baseline.
World's 10 busiest ports Take-away: How do you pry the planet away from Chinese influence when they are the factory supplying everyone with needed goods? And is it any surprise that they are aggressively trying to secure their maritime trade links and build out overland alternatives?
We should have killed China in the crib. MacArthur was right. A terrible fight then would have prevented a terrible loss in the near future.
But do we have time to get them before they turn into a monster from the depths of hell?
Maybe if we got serious. But they've penetrated too many of our institutions and govt. Confidence is not high. The nuclear arsenal that can destroy all comers is probably the best choice at this time. Conventionally I just don't think we have the national will.
If an ally starts a fight we don't want do we have to support them?
You read the title now let me get to the point.
A reader posted a video that stated that Israel is pushing beyond the justifiable (in my opinion) fight in Gaza to include Iran, Hezbollah and maybe even Syria.
I hate to say it but it sure seems like that's the case.
Don't get me wrong. I understand the fight in Gaza. That makes nothing but sense to me. Its ugly but it had to be done. But if Israel is pushing a fight against Iran at THIS TIME does it make sense?
Not to me. Not in any way.
Our munitions supplies have been drained. We are running on empty and open hands from Israel and Ukraine should have long ago gone by the wayside in order to ensure our own security.
Next the world economy is on the brink. A major war and the disruption of oil from the middle east could have unexpected knock effects.
In short it could plunge the world into a terrible recession.
But my biggest issue is that we have countries that are our allies and they're wagging the dog.
You can't engage in activity that will require support without consultation. If you're gonna start a gun fight and then ask me for ammo I think I get a call in you starting that damn gun fight!
I support Israel but they're starting to land in the Ukraine camp to me. Yeah we will support you but don't be stupid about it.

If an AC-130 can get this close to a Navy warship then shit has gone horribly wrong...
Yeah I know this was just play time for an AC-130 crew but that plane can't sink a ship. We have a problem with a man fighting a woman in an Olympic event but we're cool with women fighting men in combat?
I don't get all the whining.
Women brought this on themselves. First they sat quiet or encouraged trans to participate in women's sports. Before that they said that women should be allowed to be in combat and engage in the ultimate sport of fighting men for their very lives.
Make up my mind.
Either you think women are equal which means that you should have no issue with this shit in the Olympics or admit that you were wrong on all counts.
You can't be both.
Rant off.
18th Airborne Corps deploying to the Pacific & working on maritime insertion...
via Army Times
The 18th Airborne Corps has the global response force mission for the Army, meaning a rapid deployment of up to an entire brigade on short notice. The airborne and air assault capabilities also give the corps more ways to reach their target than nonairborne capable units.
Donahue pointed to those skillsets and ongoing work on maritime insertion, including the corps’ recent work operating the floating pier off the shore of Gaza in the Israel-Hamas conflict, as ways the corps is preparing to respond anywhere it’s needed.
If you abandon a mission, another force will pick it up.
From my chair it appears that the USMC has given up on being a global response force AND amphibious assault AND combined arms operations AND scaling up and down the force continuum to fit the needs of the combatant commander.
What are they doing instead?
Tying themselves to the navy in its "naval task force" construct.
That alone means fewer missions, less utility to the nation and becoming a non-starter for combatant commanders.
Who can blame the Army for doing what the Marine Corps has decided not to?

CENTCOM is about to be busy. 1st MARDIV better start dusting off those desert cammies---fuck FD2030, its back to the future...
So Israel decided its gonna engage in a two front war with Hezbollah & Hamas? Correction. Add Iran to that mix. 1st MARDIV better get its act together. US involvement in some fashion seems certain. I bet JSOC is popping corks right now. They're going back to their happy hunting grounds.Last night:
