I wish the Marine Corps had a book on fighting tribals. They're just built different and that's why they're so hard to fight. I'd love to know the real deal psychology that tribals have. Oh and you doubt me about this? Look at some of the fighters dominating the MMA. Alot from places like Kazakhstan. Tribal fighters appear to have much different motivations, have a much different mindset etc...yeah we need a manual covering irregular warfare involving tribals. Lastly remember that many of our "threat forces" have battalions of tribals as part of their formations. Would an outfit made up of tribals fight differently than an outfit made up of ethnic Chinese? Should we expect those outfits to have a "different" view of how they treat captured members? Women in power think they're coming off as strong but really just look like nagging bitches...
I watched the hearing. The Senators above thought they were coming off as powerful. They thought wrong. If they had stated their issues in a calm manner then it would have had power. All the "drama shit" did was make them look like nagging bitches. The ladies don't know their audience. That might appeal to the female part of their audience but I feel confident that it comes off badly to the male portion. Additionally they're still playing the male vs female thing. That's old and to be honest everyone knows the truth. The average female can't match the average male in strength. Same with a trained male vs trained female. You can't legislate equity. You can enforce equality, a maintenance of standards. Lastly they talk about the integration of blacks in the military. The disruption was less. Much less because the standards weren't lowered. In some cases blacks had to do more to show they belonged (don't lose your shit....in the 50s and 60s that's just facts). The best thing to do is to follow Dr. King's admonition. Interesting. Grenades lack the power to clear trenches? Didn't know that. I guess you could use multiple grenades but who knows? If the Ukrainians are developing improvised devises then perhaps we should be looking at "enhanced" grenades? I can't imagine the weight constraints or how it would work but being able to dial up how powerful a blast you need for a particular target would be nice even though its pushing current tech to the max. Oh and I wouldn't want to be running around with 20 bricks of c4 in my pack. Fuck that.

WE ARE NOT READY!
The Chinese are building a worldwide Marine Corps able to deploy to every clime and place ALONG WITH a hyper powerful surface fleet that MIGHT be able to withstand the assault of a carrier battle group (remember the Soviets built less ships, LESS CAPABLE ships with the idea of taking out carriers).
This is why the Pentagon is pushing deterrence so hard. If the Chinese do fight us and even if we fight to a draw (with heavy losses on both sides), they'll be able to rebuild so fast that we don't stand a chance when they decide for round two.
Which of course means that if it becomes apparent to all (like it has to me) then fighting round one makes no sense.

I've been watching some of the drama coming out of the UK and to a lesser extent the rest of Europe and things are getting beyond spicy.
We have several big bases over there.
What happens if things pop off in a big way? What happens if "yankee go home" becomes part of the dynamic?
Are we prepared to reinforce those bases AGAINST not the enemy but against pissed off civilians in those countries? How do you even do such a thing?
Of course the instant answer that every officer would give is that you "work with partner nations and depend on them to provide outside the gates security". But what if they overwhelmed? What happens if the gates are breached? What about our nukes?
Bad look to be mowing down civilians cause they stumbled across the wrong building and are gonna pay with their lives (no matter how justified).
I just hope someone is watching this stuff cause Germany, the UK, Italy, France, Romania and a number of other countries appear ready to pop from my chair.
