Russians Enter Last Major Ukrainian Stronghold In Key Eastern Sector

I don't know the map but I have a "sense" of this fight.

1.  Trump is pushing hard for a peace plan.
2.  The French along with the Brits are talking more and more about sending troops into Ukraine.
3.  Russia is damaged, not so much its forces which can be quickly reconstituted but more its economy.  Peace will not come without a lifting of the sanctions.
4.  Zelensky is getting desperate.  His benefactors are running out of money and equipment to send him.
5.  Zelensky should be fearing the end of the war because he will face the wrath of his own population.  Keep an eye on his private plane when the talks begin.  I'm sure he's already setup a spot to zoom to when this ends.

Last.  The Russians can topple Velyka Novosilka, continue with a limited offensive to consolidate their gains and basically just hold on.

That's what I expect to happen.

U.S. Marines unload ACVs from the Stern Landing Vessel (SLV), Okinawa, Japan.

Who remembers awhile ago when they were talking about launching LCACs from 100 miles off shore, closing to within 5 miles to the beach, doing an INSTREAM launch of the ACV and the LCAC would return to the ship for the rest of the assault wave and the ACV did mean, nasty things onshore? I remember the concept being talked about but never heard if they actually tried it. Anyone know? As far as the stern landing ship is concerned it just makes no sense. I keep saying it and will continue to say it. What is needed is a modernized Newport Class LST. It could beach, could keep up with the amphibious task force and would be absolutely essential especially when you consider the loss of well deck space with the unwarranted turn toward being aviation centric.

Marines are back to doing Marine things. Any Mission, Anywhere!!!

One thing about Marine Corps leadership.  Especially the weasels.  They can sense when the wind is shifting and can adjust with a quickness.  The way they're responding to the Trump administration's orders for troops on the border indicate they know what's what.  Oh and make no mistake.  For the Weasel Fucking Idiots that happen to wear stars (doesn't apply to the real deal Marine officers that I truly believe are still the majority) this is about self preservation.  They're trying to stack points to cover their six when the review of leadership gets going in earnest.

Note. HQMC has dug its fangs into the floorboard and continue with this Marine Littoral Regiment bullshit despite the Navy OBVIOUSLY having decided that it makes no sense to purchase ANY stern landing ships when the MLR provides less firepower than an additional Burke or perhaps a couple of frigates. Add the idea of "sensing and making sense" for the joint force when better options are available that don't require putting Marine units in the line of fire without any plausible means of extraction ALONG WITH the MLR needing host nations to approve its deployment to be of any use and it should be apparent to all (INCLUDING THE INCOMING SECDEF) that this idea is a can of shit in a shiny wrapper.

This dance routine kinda weirded me out...she looked kinda spooky towards the end

3 inches of snow fucked us up down here....but Lake Charles had a freaking BLIZZARD!

Oof

Snow is hell spawn. You might not know it but I have a horrible relationship with snow. I hate it and it hates me. Apparently that extends to my state. 3 inches fucked us up, but Lake Charles had a no shit blizzard and New Orleans got 10 inches of the nasty stuff. Still alive. Still hate snow. Still love warm.

Everyone is worried about Trump but they better keep an eye on Melania

If looks could kill Melania would be a mass murderer. She is burning holes thru that woke ass, fake ass, member of the clergy. I absolutely luv it. Trump is the kinda dude that will forgive. Melania gives me the impression that its not the case with her. They might fear Trump but they better watch the power behind the thrown. Melania looks like she's taking no prisoners this go round.

"Advanced Earth-to-Orbit Vehicles Jet-Powered and Nuclear Rocket-Powered" via Mike Acs Flickr Page

Convair (Astronautics) - General Dynamics photo, no. 09600-A)

"Advanced Earth-to-Orbit Vehicles Jet-Powered and Nuclear Rocket-Powered"

So, does that mean both (jet-powered & nuclear-powered) are depicted here? It would appear so; with the forward section/stage being nuclear-powered and the aft (it also being delta-winged) section/stage being jet-powered. At least that's what I think I'm seeing.

So, that makes the below linked image quite plausible as being that of the same vehicle, after its release/launch from the carrier aircraft.

Finally, based on the block letters he used for his "signature", I think this is an early work by John Sentovic. Regardless, my date range is a total SWAG.

Lastly & most inconsequentially, note the bubble canopy of the carrier aircraft, not unlike that of Convair's B-36 "Peacemaker" bomber.

I heard it was rough on the recruiting trail but it must be Mt Suribachi rough if they're making skits like this!
