Young animals (including humans) have no survival instincts. Wonder why?

Little girl knew enough to get away from the snake but not enough to properly evade it. Young animals, including humans, have no survival instincts. I wonder why? Seems like the creator would have built that into the biology in order for the young to get old.

I'm starting to believe the stories of MARSOC going away. They're doing more exercises with Force Recon & less with the rest of SOCOM

Have you been watching at least the PUBLISHED trend lines with MARSOC? They're doing more and more exercises with Force Recon and less with the rest of SOCOM. They're still training with other nation state forces but less with JSOC. Something is going on and I believe they're slow walking the demise of MARSOC like they did with TANKS.

Why can't we have nice things. For the price of the CH-53K we could have bought the MH-47G Block II (1.5 according to what I've seen online) and have a true penetration helo

Oshkosh Defense unveils new variant of Marine remote fires vehicle

I wonder why it had to be an unmanned vehicle? Extend the wheel base, leave the cab and drive the damn thing. This was a reach for high tech that was unnecessary. If anything make it where it could be left alone and still launch missiles remotely...which would have meant to simply put it on a trailer, but I guess all that's too simple.

4 U.S. Army soldiers killed during exercise in Lithuania near border with Belarus, NATO chief says

 via CBS News

Four U.S. Army soldiers were killed during a training exercise in Lithuania, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said Wednesday, speaking with reporters in Poland. The U.S. embassy in Vilnius said earlier in a statement posted on social media that the four soldiers had gone missing during training, and it thanked the Baltic nation's military and police for helping American forces search for them.

A U.S. official would say only that the four soldiers were involved in a training accident.

I respect the dead.

Honor their sacrifice.

Wish the best for their friends and family.

BUT I have to wonder if they were part of the undercover US mission in Ukraine.

US Army Special Operations says "all warfare is irregular"...

Interesting. SOCOM became the main effort, were lavishly supported and somehow forgot that special ops forces are vulnerable to conventional forces. Regardless they're pushing themselves into peer conflict and seemingly won't be denied. I hope they have someone at the helm that will ensure that they don't take on suicide missions. Small wars are never ending and if they stay in their lane I'm sure they'll have more than enough work to do without trying to find a slot in the big fight between the USA & China.

Hyundai invests in America & particularly Louisiana...

Not much in the grand scheme of things but we'll take it and smile...baby steps turn into big leaps. Thanks Trump.

Moving target Zelensky is now DEMANDING that Ukraine join NATO

This is all a money grab. A money grab and war hunger. Past time for the USA to bail on this nonsense.

I keep saying pepper spray is becoming ineffective and I keep getting argued down..

I'm going FULL BORE Think Defense Blog on this. We should take advantage of commercial machinery & stop with the MilSpec shit...

Not at all a fan of the MLR concept. I like what Compass Points is pushing. An enhanced SOC/MOC MEU. That's a Special Operations Capable/Missile Operation Capable MEU that is viable in ALL THEATERS! Having said that the NMESIS project is a freaking mess. An unmanned vehicle that has to be controlled with a Marine walking beside it with a gaming controller? That's bullshit. We could put those missiles on this rig, have it full deployable, launch it in any direction and get the hell outta dodge. The Marine Corps has never known for being fancy but somehow we've wandered into those water. Simplify, Simplify, Simplify. Thoreau was right!

This is an EXTREMELY simplistic example of modern tech not beating old skool ways...

I luv tech. Live on my phone and computer but we have to be nuanced. Tech is awesome but sometimes old fashioned stuff works better. I guess the battle is knowing the difference.
